Complaints about foodborne illness

How do I make a complaint about food poisoning?

The NSW Food Authority is responsible for ensuring that NSW consumers get access to safe and correctly labelled food.

Sources of illness are very wide. Although the cause may seem like a food based source, it is often not. See the Authority's information pages on foodborne illness and food poisoning for more details.

If you believe that you have become unwell due to eating contaminated food, you should contact the Authority’s Consumer & Industry Contact Centre to make a report.

Details about the Authority's role in dealing with food complaints, the complaint process, and what you need to tell us can be found on the Complaints and enquiries information page.
