Community food safety awareness survey 2025
In 2025 the Food Authority launched a quiz to better understand food safety awareness in the community. The survey was designed to help inform education activities and to compare results with previous behavioural research undertaken in 2020. They survey also gauged food safety awareness in children, who were not included in the 2020 research.

Community food allergy awareness survey 2024
Showgoers in 2024 took part in our allergy awareness survey, which sought the community’s knowledge of and experiences with food allergies.
Australia has one of the highest food allergy rates in the world, with one in 10 infants, one in 20 teens and about one in 50 adults affected.
See the results on the Food allergy awareness survey 2024 page.
Lunchbox survey 2023
We asked children about their lunchboxes in our 2023 Easter Show survey to find out what foods they were taking, and whether they were keeping them cold.
The majority of children indicated great food safety behaviours by keeping their lunch in the shade or inside and using insulated lunch bags and ice bricks.
Full results are on our Lunch boxes page.
